This work, published in Palermo in the years 1871-75, is lavishly illustrated with as many as 98 cromolitographic color plates, displaying as many as 1338 coats of arms: of the Royal Houses once ruling on the island and of its towns, but first of all of the Sicilian noble families, whose historical deeds and titles of nobility are illustrated in the accompaining text by Vincenzo Palizzolo Gravina; it still remains a real classic on Sicilian heraldry and history you cannot do without.
